Tricolored Bumble Bee

Post by beetleman »

Species Bombus ternarius - Tricolored Bumble Bee. Late summer again. I do not see these too often, mostly out in the less populated areas with more woods and meadows of wild flowers. Do not think I have seen them in my little city. More of a country Bumblebee

Cool bee, Doug. How warm does it have to get before the bees return to your neck of the woods for spring?

You might see honey bees around when the temp is close to 50 degrees and the sun is nice and warm on the buildings. Not that they will find much to eat.
