Thanks. Yes a lucky shot, get a slightly different angle and the wings get completely transparent; bit like photographing a piece of clear plastic sheeting
They are a very interesting butterflys. I was so shocked at the clear wings when I saw my first one. Here is one I posted in the old forums ( not a very good one) http://www.photomacrography1.net/forum/ ... costa+rica
