Most certainly is a big wasp, I see a lot of these in the summer. Got stung by one, one time while opening the gate to the pasture. They had built their nest inside one of the open ends of the pipe constructed gate. Hurt like..........

A friend of mine found two dead ones in her house. That is when I found out the info on them.

Actually croatian.

Our word for wasp is osa. Osa is a noun of feminine genus. So we can say she is bodulka. (bodulka means she-is-from-isle)

Thanks Dough, especially for the links. However, it looks my Hornet has a much longer antennae.

Also, I saw it killing spider.
