wildflowers in january

i know this is rare in most parts of the country, but we get wildflowers in January here. just a two shots, i know one is dark lost my photoshop cd had to use craptastic resize program. forgot the name of the flower i got it labeled somewhere.

Looks like Chicory. Is there some blue there?

Don't know about Chickory, flower stem seems a bit too long :-k Most people think of Chickory as a weed and it probably is but I think it has the most beautiful blue flowers. I love to see them growing along the roadside when I am out and about. Wish I had some growing around my home. :D Well lets see, the first image is really hot and though the second is a bit dark, there is really a lot of detail in there, not to bad I think. :D Software programs can get on your nerves sometimes as well as computer problems. :wink:

I can't make out what colour it is,looks cream/pink/pale yellow. I got the right family tho (Asteraceae)
Something like Nipple Wort or Cow's Ear?

hey thanks, yea i wish i could find my photoshop cd, they wouldnt be too dark or too bright but oh well. since you guys are wanting the name more than i thought this is what i have it as from recent pictures a few months back.

Malacothrix saxatilis - cliff aster

and like some of the photos you might find in google the underside of the flowers does have a slight pinkish color to some parts. i just was in a rush kind of.
