River Icicles

Following on Ken's "growing ice" (HERE) here is another winter phenomenon; the formation of icicles along streams. Needs a combination of grass stems being underwater, air temp. below freezing, and the water level slowly dropping. These conditions sometimes result in this type of clear/crystalline icicles:

Beautiful :o This is the kind of stuff I have been waiting on. I don't know if we will get it or not but we'll see. I have to travel about 25mi. to the nearest accessable stream for shots like this. Everything around my area is posted "no trespassing." :?
