Wonder why dragon flies always pick these solitary out in the open spots to land? One would think that they would be especially vulnerable to predators but then again they are pretty fast and have good eyesight. To me the background looks a little busy but what do I know. Pretty nice photo here Nikola. :D

Nice picture of a male S. fonscolombii.
I find the background pleasing.

Dragonflies like to sit where it will have a good view of flies, mosquitoes etc. and incoming females when it comes to males.

Yep, I think they keep their territory as well. I found the same guys (judging by some body markings) around the same places day after day.
