Hi from a newbie here

Just to say hello, just been pointed here by another member (Joan Young).
Keen macrophotographer that shoots just about anything in my garden.
I use focus stacking a lot either by hand or using combinezm.
I also do 3-D cross-eye macro stereograms and sometimes do panorama macro shots.
I hope clickable slightly larger pics are allowed ?

Some "sample shots" of a dewdrop flower refraction, a bluebottle fly feeding and a globular springtail.

Welcome to the forums. These are beautiful and yes you can link to a larger file. You are allowed to upload images sized to no larger than 800 pixels on the longest size in this forum.

Hey Brian, welcome aboard. Glad to see you posting on this side of the fence also. A really great set of images here but the first and the last are my fav's I have never been able to get as good a shot of a globular spingtail as that. Wonderful work!

It seems that you've been well greeted already, but let me add mine -- welcome!

I too have seen your work elsewhere. Lovely photos, and on the technical side I'm very appreciative of your stacking tutorial that shows how to do manual alignment of handheld shots in CombineZM.

There are a lot of stacked photos in this forum, but almost all done with mechanical aids for focus stepping.

I'm looking forward to seeing lots of great stuff -- and again, welcome!

From a quick look around it seems everyone is into focus stacking as much as I am although I tend to do it handheld on live bugs just to make it difficult

Walter - doing dewdrop refractions is one of my "things". I often suffer from damp knees.

Hi Brian, good to see you here, not that you know it but you have been instrumental in getting me into the habbit of stacking, i think it was one of your tutorials that was my introduction, and i have also been a fan of your handheld method with a low number of images per stack, so it is a pleasent suprise. Yes they are very much into stacking here, and the welth of knowledge is phenominal to an amateur, and newbie to microscopy, like me. Be sure to have a look through the photomicrography forums too, there is some mind blowing stuff, and the techniques that have been so well explained are invaluable.

So welcome and I hope you enjoy your time on these boards as much as i do

Welcome Brian, I too have seen some of your images before. Not got around to stacking myself yet because I have not so far needed to get that close. Someday I must try it. From your Web site one immediately gathers you are into water drops!

I also said welcome in one of the other posts before I saw your post here.
