Caterpillars grouping

Why the heck they do that? Seems one is dead infected by fungi? (Far on the right side - pic #1)

And curious ladybug on #2?

These are just as interesting as mine Nikola. Maybe someone will give us an answer as to why they group together like this.

Very interesting Nikola. Are the different colours related to diferent instars do you know? The yellow ones are generally smaller which seems to suggest different stage of development.

Hey...Eastern Tent Caterpillars, didn't know you had them over there Nikola. I see on with caterpillar poop on its back, poor thing. They seem to have bigger heads than ours though. Wonderful shots!

Beautiful coloring and cute "Happy Faces" on their heads. The ladybird is an added bonus in the second picture.

I was so sure i had commented on this before, was it on another forum/thread? I remember spending a lot of time on it and now it seems to be lost and i am too tired to do it all again.

In summery great shots and very interesting esp behaviourally(sp?)
