Red Admiral Butterfly - A Couple of Different Angles

Post by georgedingwall »

Hi all,

Here's a couple more shots of the Red Admiral Butterfly I've been working on recently.

The first looks over the shoulder as if it is about to have a drink of nectar.

This one looks back at the butterfly from the flowers point of view.

I have to admit to a little image manipulation with this one. The antenna on the left of the image would not stay in a symetrical position and was more horizontal than is shown here. I repositioned it in Photoshop to make a more symetrical image.

That's it for the Red Admiral, I promise no more Red Admiral Images for this season. :)

Both images ;

D200 with inverted Nikon 105mm micro lens
2 sets of extension tubes.
1/250 sec @ F8 ISO 100
Home made focussing rail
Flash
Frames stacked in Helicon Focus
Finished in Photoshop CS2.

Bye for now.

Great stacks George. Lots of fine detail :wink:
