Shooing away a "fly"

Post by JoanYoung »

I work in the dark with only my computer on for light and had this pesky fly on me which I kept shooing away and brushing off. After about a half an hour of this, I decided that enough was enough and went to go and get something to spray him with. I switched on the lights to look for him and saw him on my computer except it turned out to be a small hairy spider and not a fly at all!!
He is all of 3-4 mm in length. I am glad the little bugger did not decide to bite me!!

Jumping spiders always seem to show up at the oddest times. When you go looking for them, they are never around.

He was probably out of a nights snack and was checking if anything was being attracted to your monitor light  I guess you found out how dust shows up under macro conditions :D

What we really want to know is did he make a kill and did you record it? :)

Doug, I just happened to notice--Did I miss something, and you break your camera? Any luck with a replacement?

Had he been on mine, there would have been a wrecked computer involved. [/quote]

Mike
If he made a kill I did not see it as I switched the lights off again after I noticed what it was. But I will say I have not heard any mosquitoes for a night or two. :D

Ken
But he is tiny Ken!! And so cute!! How could you flatten him?
