Polygonia butterfly close-up

Post by MacroLuv »

This guy has hairs even on his eyes.
There is not enough DOF to see it clearly, but if you look carefully at upper left part of his eye you may find it. :D
Hand held, day light, 100 mm macro plus some combination of close-up lens. :-k

I don't remember what hairy butterfly eyes are posted in this forum, but a Painted Lady eye has long been one of my standard test/demo cases for stacking. See this non-forum page.

Thanks for the link!

I had no memory of George's post. :(

(Based on the dates, I must have completely overlooked that one while I was trying to prepare my mini-epic! :? )

Very fine picture, Nikola! You´re getting really close and personal with your lens combination. Wouldn´t have expected such a good quality with close-up lenses to be mounted in front. Thanks for sharing. :D

And yes, linking back to older posts is a good habit.:smt023 I think I had missed that one of George Dingwall too.

Don't be upset Rik. The working on your mini-epic definitely worth a little bit of overlook in the forums.

Thanks Betty. The multicoated achromatic Canon "D" lenses (D = doublet) are really good.

Very sharp and detailed closeup Nikola. An interesting pattern to the eye also.

Thanks Ken and Doug. :D
Doug, how does your new camera works? It is a great jump from 3 to 6 mp I think.
