The first one is a picture of Buttons on the saddlebag of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle. The second one I call..."I am not going out in that cold snowy weather". "OOPS" Rik has reminded me that I must state that picture #2 has been enhanced through digital means to "way beyond its` natural state". I used PSP to layer and cut the insect onto another picture looking out my window on a snowy winter morning.

Well done, Doug! I hadn´t read the text at first and thought the Cicindela beetle was a lifelike model backlit in a shop window! You fooled me with this one, and you really know how to use your software!
Actually, there seem to be two beetles on your photo.
The other new beetle I think I can identify in the background was not created by evolution though, but by VW instead. (Or is it an Asiatic copycat that is mimicking VW )
Best wishes,
Betty
