1.5 ants

Post by paul »

Spring is definitely on its way, as evidenced by more numerous sorties by the white-footed ants (technomyrmex albipes) whose abode I share :) . In earlier posts I have described their obsession with dead bodies and body parts, here is another attempt to capture the behaviour (on the wooden floor of my living room).

I am using NAV Internet Security 2006 and I recieved no such warning upon entering the site or opening the post. Must be on your end Nikola, hope you get it figured out. :-k

Gad! What a shot Paul. Morbid little creatures aren't they? An excellent behavioral image though, got to hand it to you, thanks. :D

It is possible that your anti virus protection has the sites URL's blocked. You may have to go into the virus protection settings and place the sites URL in the Allowed section of the virus protection program or adjust your level of security accordingly. It maybe that you have that set too high. :-k

The only alert I get is ant alert :D Boy I layed down to photograph a mushrom this sunday, and suddenly realised I had ants all over me  Boy did I get up and jump around.

This picture is really interesting and strange at the same time. Great capture you managed. I once observed an ants carying a dead ant around over the nest. Not sure what the purpose is.

cheers
Erland

Maybe they have the need to emulate Vlad the Impaler (Dracula), turned back a whole horde of turks with dead bodies impaled on the battlefield. Grusome but novel idea. It is curious what the ants do with the dead bodies of their fellow ants, maybe they are used in nest construction of some type. :-k

Norton has many false alarms due to the fact that sites are submitted by end users in error. It did that to me once on my home page and many times on other pages known to be safe.

That is odd. It has never happened to me that I can recall and I hope it doesn't. I have just started using NAV Internet Security and I prefer it over the standard NAV. It detects and removes all types of worms, trogans, etc. really well if you by chance come up on them. I have never encountered anything serious though, most of them are "downloaders," which are really common these days on about any website and are easily removed by the NAVIS program on the spot. :D

Go into your anti virus program, NAV if that is what you are using and add www.photomacrography2.net to your "Allow" list. That should solve the problem...I think. :-k :D
