This is one hansome fellow! A difficult subject with a exceptionally wide dynamic range - IMO impossible to capture all the detail without resorting to using an HDR technique of some kind. As it is, the important detail (the critter) is near perfectly exposed.

You captured the sheen on the wings of the moth very well and there is lots of detail to look at on him also IMO and the angle of the shot makes for great composition in the photo.

The exposure was, indeed, tricky. I've added a second version below in which I tried to keep a bit more detail in the flowers.

Not sure but it looks like some kind of smokey wing moth :-k Very nice images. :D
