aphids!

Post by jmlphoto »

well i have been out of commission recently from a poison oak encounter, i came back to my pepper plants devestated with aphids. so i took some shots of the little buggers i hate so much before they get a drench with nettle tea and neem oil before they kill over.

Those are two pesticides I have never heard of before for aphids. Environmentally friendly I am assuming  Great shots :D

thanks salden

ken i am an organic grower i try to stay as far away from bottles and products as i can. i know tons of plants no one would ever think of that have awesome organic properties. nettles also known as urtica dioica is a great immune booster, it helps the plant fight off pests, full of minerals and lots of nitrogen for those N loving plants. it attracts lots of beneficial insects as well but i dont have any growing atm so i pick them on a friends property by a stream. neem oil is a tree i believe from india and has amazing anti pest properties.

WOW, up close and personal for sure. I hate aphids also. I just found some on one of my pricey Australian sundews. I am using a hand lens and alcohol on a Q-tip to try and get rid of them. Excellent photos.
