The first one is my favorite. It looks like he is playing hide and seek, but picked the wrong place. :lol:

The second image - the insect looks almost "plastic". And with the composition, the flower should also be in focus. I know this can be a pain with DOF issues in Macro, but it seems to me the flower is just as much part of the main statement of the image as the insect.

Sue you are dead right, these bugs have an almost waxy appearance i think it's the beetle. And the flower should have been in focus and not from lack of trying but the light was failing me and this was already shot at 400iso. I am trying to teach myself flash with the twin canon unit but won't post them until i get relatively good quality.
