Troop of tiny fungi - first post with HOYA+2 close-up lens

Post by Bruce Williams »

Hi folks,

I used to own a set of close-up lenses back in the early 1960's and my results were at best pretty average. However, impressed with Doug's results using his Canon 250D I've bought myself a couple of HOYA close-up lenses (+2 and +4 diopter) for use on the Minolta A2. I'm quite pleased with results so far.

Pic1: Minolta A2, Macro at full telephoto with HOYA+2, ISO100, f/9 at 1/200s, pop-up flash.
Pic2: Minolta A2, Macro at full telephoto with HOYA+2, ISO100, f/10 at 1/160s, pop-up flash.

Pic1 near full frame with some PP with CS2.
Pic2 The inset with coin is full frame.

Bruce

The inset coin is a British penny - similar in size to 1 cent.

Hey Bruce, really great pics with fairy tale atmosphere. :D :smt023
Is it a miniature worm on the pic #1? 8)

Fantastic images there Bruce, really easy on the eyes. Maybe I should get a set of close ups for my G7. :D

Very beautiful Bruce. They almost look sugar coated. Nice detail and DOF also. I see the little worm

Very tiny but very excellent :D
I just think the first picture has such a pleasing mood to it. Not sure what it is. I think a lot of people would like a postcard like this.

attractive little fungi! The flash gives enough lighting, I'm impressed for an on-camera flash.

Thanks everybody for your kind observations.

It was quite dark in the this area of the woods and the grub was so tiny that I didn't notice it myself until I saw the pic on screen. Thanks for the suggestion on identity Adrian :D .
