Australian Native Bee

Post by Dearis »

Hi there,

this is an Australian Native Bee, they are quite small, but pretty. Would like a critique if possible.

Exif: 1/200sec, F/6.3, 100mm Macro lens, ISO-100, Av mode

Regards Darren

Very nice photo Darren :D What you have there is a Syrphid Fly...Family Syrphidae (Syrphid Flies). a lot of them look like bees and wasps. A good way to tell in your picture is the shape and size of the antenna. Flies usually have small antenna and two wings (generally) http://bugguide.net/node/view/196/bgimage
