Here's a good reason we keep a small paper cup and file card handy in my house. Both of my kids and my WIFE have been trained to catch spiders they find in the house and move them outside. We don't kill ANY spiders at my house. This little lynx spider shows why. The skeeter he has might well have been infected with encephalitis and his capture might just have saved one of my kids lifes.. Think on it!

I have never seen one in New Hampshire. Small ones I leave alone...big ones are fair game and the open season runs year round. Especially if on the walls of my bedroom. I remember somewhere I saw that a average person "eats" six spiders in their sleep in our lifetimes.
