Cicada Nymph Skin Shell
Hi everybody. It has been a while since I have posted any pictures here. I shot an image yesterday I thought might be a good one for this forum. It is a Cicada Nymph Skin Shell, left after the Cicada shed it. I believe it from an Annual Cicada, Tibicen Linnei. It was shot on my back deck using a Canon Rebel XT and a Canon 2.8, 100 mm macro lens. The 100% crop of this image is quite stunning. If there is any interest, I can load the file onto my website and post a link to it here. Thanks for looking! Any comments are welcome.

Nice capture Bill.
I think I have a few shots like this. Must find it in my archives.
Seems we share the same type of equipment.
Canon Rebel XT is actually Canon EOS 400D, isn't it?

The meaning of beauty is in sharing with others.
P.S.
Noticing of my "a" and "the" and other grammar
errors are welcome.

MacroLuv, Hi, Yes, a Rebel XT is the same as a 400D. I guess Canon thought Americans would buy more of them if the name included "Rebel"?? This shot isn't as impressive as some of the focus stacked images I've seen here, but, that 2.8, 100mm Canon lens does a great job! I'm sure you love yours. This was shot at f11 FYI.
Sue, Hi to you too! I've seen countless hundreds of these abandoned shells through out my life, but, I don't think I ever stopped to take a close-up photograph of one before. It would seem obligatory for any macro photographer!
