It certainly looks like one :shock: I`m going to say some kind of crane fly. The proboscis looks like it is built for sucking necter like a butterfly. Looks very large. Also looks like it has two sets of antennae (I bet one is mouthparts). Very nice find Ken.

Great picture!!! I am not sure but it looks like a male mosquito! Only the ladies suck blood, most males feed on nectar and stuff.

I didn`t even think of a male mosquito. They are not in the news very often :D

That back-ground color sure is supporting the whole image very well :D .
