since i saw that black one which was awesome i had to post the local red ones. they are a pain in the a$$ to capture sometimes. but there colors are so bright sometimes which varies changes with each one.

Really nice close up picture. It surely looks like a Flame Skimmer (Libellula saturara), although at first I thought it was an African species :D

thanks for the comments. i was having a real hard time getting this picture. they seemed to love messing with me landing close waiting for me to focus then fly off. this one didnt seem to scared and let me snap a few. thanks for the I.D erland what a great name.

What an incredible looking dragonfly. They must look very beautiful when they are flying. I like the angle of the photo...over the shoulder :wink:
