Portrait of a Bumble Bee

Post by georgedingwall »

Hi all,

This is my portrait of Bumble Bee. Possibly Bombus hortorium. It has 3 yellow bands and a white "tail" section.

D200 with Nikon 105mm lens inverted
Home made focussing rail
1/250 sec @ F8
Flash
Stack of 20 frames with a 0.2 mm adjustment.
Stacked in Helicon Focus 4
Finished in Photoshop CS2.

Thats not a cute little bumblebee, thats the bee from "HELL" :smt119 . I guess if her antennae were not over her eyes (she looks like a bat) and it looks like it had a head on collision (lots of damage in the lower section of the pic). Other than that, it looks like a great stack job George
