Nothing special about this image, but I like it. He was tonguing as he crawled around, and I desperately tried to catch him with his tongue out, but no luck.

WOW...It makes me want to back up slowly away from my monitor, keeping a very close eye on the snake as I get ready to run. :shock:

Your wish is my command, Sahib....Note that even at F/22, there's not a lot of DOF in this 100% crop. And I used some of it on the sand in front of the reptile (pit vipers are much to dignified to crawl into mush!).

Now that IS up close - you can see right up it's nostril :shock:

IMO the sand was good use of available DOF as the visible body was so far behind the head that it would not have been sharp anyway.
