Not sure, but this "thing" has been "babysitting" the little Aphids ever since they first appeared in my garden.

Most attentively, I would think! This looks to me like a side shot of an unusually hairless, plumped-tight, ready to molt aphid lion -- a lacewing larva. That sucked-dry husk near its posterior might not be just a coincidence. :wink:

umm.... according to your link, they actually eat the little guys, not take care of them :(
