A Real Louse !!!

Post by georgedingwall »

Hi all,

After all of the testing with my new home made focussing rail, here's an image of a Woodlouse made using the new setup.

Its taking quite a bit of getting used to, but I'm enjoying finding out about it.

D200
Nikon 35mm Lens inverted
Home made focussing rail
Flash
Stacked in Helicon Focus
Finished in Photoshop.

Kind of reminds me of the WWI Doughboys in away. An interesting shot, with lots of great details. Nice work there George, thanks! :D

Looks like the mine sweepers I have seen, think tey where from WWII, but I am not sure. I believe they where modified Mark I's but don't pin me down on that.

Do you have an article about how you made the rail?? I have been thinking of making one for quite a while now, but can't find the right info on it.

Cool shot, great on the deatil for this scale m8.

All the best,

Tom B

I have to go along with the Darth Vader look-alike comments.

I don't have a specific article on how I made the rail, but I made a couple of posts in the technical discussions forum which gives some detail of what I did.

If there's anything specific you want to know I'd be glad to help. I based my setup on Rik Littlefield's rail system, so it might be useful to look at his setup too.

May the force be with you.
