A Moth With Beautiful Eyes

Post by beetleman »

Eye spots that is. Family Sphingidae - Sphinx Moths. The inset shows what it normally looks like. It was high on the wall of the house, so I disturbed it a little with my finger and it flew a short distance and opened up to reveal its`eye spots. Plus it was in a lower position for me to get a better photo. The widest part of the wings in the normal position (inset) was about 2" wide.
