You know I really like the warm colors and textures in this Mike, on top of that there is lots of detail in there too. One nice looking snake! :D

Nicely composed. Symmetric, detailed, and only a little bit scary. (Ken does spiders, I do snakes. Or maybe they do us. :wink: )

I notice it's sharp corner to corner, too. Small aperture, tilt lens, stacked, or flatter than it looks?

The wonders of f/32, combined with shooting downwards onto the subject. And the front of the shot is a bit lower than the back, which helped further. There's a bit of diffraction loss, but not much. Perhaps deliberately on Canon's design team's part, my 180 macro seems to do well stopped down quite a bit, though it is still not a free ride.

This would've been a good use for my 90mm TSE + 2x tc. I dropped the lens <!> :oops: :cry: awhile back, and there is minor damage that Canon can repair, but I've put off sending it. I'd prefer not to have dropped it in the first place, actually!
