Pearl Bubble Coral

This is pearl bubble coral, Physogyra sp, a captive raised tropical coral. The first picture shows irregularly shaped polyps. The second picture is a close-up of "sweeper tentacles" the coral uses for catching food and as a defense mechanism.

Quite an interesting group of organisms. I have never understood these little things other than the fact that they help create reefs. Really a neat set of images.
