rough cinquefoil

Rough cinquefoil (Potentilla norvegica) grows all over the entrance to the forest in my backyard.
It may be a noxious weed, but the flowers are nice. It seems to battle for space with stinging nettles... which is fine by me!

Yes...I say "down with nettles" A very artistic looking photo mowse. Very pastal looking like a water color. Would make a great poster size print IMO.

My yard is full of these things, especailly along the house foundation on the northside where it is shady most of the time.
