A wee little fellow

I cannot find the name of this insect, but he is small, looks like a mini-bee. They like to hide in the stamen of flowers.

Think this is a Sweat Bee but I am not sure. That is what I call them anyway. Really a neat shot of the little thing. :D

Bugguide.net says there are 502 species of Sweatbees but a couple of their photos labeled 'Lasioglossum' look similar so that might be a place to start. Whatever the name, it is a nice image.

Very nice Sue...lots of great DOF and focus. I find these gals hard to capture because they move around quite a bit.

That one looks like genus Dialictus. Sweat bee is a term which covers a wide variety of small annoying bees.

Let one sting you and see how annoying it really gets to be! For their size, what ever they are, they sure pack a punch. :D
