Polygonia c-album (Comma butterfly)

Post by MacroLuv »

... I'm guessing. :D
Only the right side behind the butterfly was cropped out to avoid "negative space". From original 3888×2592 to 3456×2592 than resized to 800×600. Second image is crop of cental part.

The wings on this guy are very striking in appearance. Very unusual! And good stalking to get that close to a small, active butterfly.

Don't what others would think but those backgrounds seem quite befitting for a butterfly. Wonderful shots and I agree with Mike on those wings. :D

A very beautiful photo Nikola. What I find striking is the dull brown color of the BF mixed with the super bright colors of the flowers...makes a wonderful contrast IMO. The colors are so bright, they are shining up onto the butterflies` abdomen
