Pickerel Frog

Post by beetleman »

This is a Pickerel Frog..Rana palustris. He is also a very lucky frog because I had just weed-whacked (a gas powered machine with string that spins and cuts down high weeds and plants, people might call it something else in different countries) the whole area. You can see the carnage behind him in the pictures. In picture #2, he does not look like he is smiling like most frogs do :smt087

Great looking croaker there Doug. :D Reminds me of someone on the Simpsons though. You probably would not be smiling either if you just had a near miss from a weed-eater.

You've captured the essence of "frogishness" in pic2 Doug. The very low angle makes all the difference between an ordinary shot and good photo.

I believe you have to "get down and be one" with the animals you photograph. I learned that here in the forums a a matter of fact. :smt109

"Zen" close-up photography, grasshopper. :D Nice images, Doug. One slip with the weedwhacker and it would have been frog's legs for dinner :!: :D

The worst day photographing dragonflies is better than the best day working! :)
