Don't know what kind of bug it is either and it is probably not a tater bug though I really am not all that interested if it is. Yes, I like the background I got with the top image and I really like the subtile softness of this lens too, though it can produce very sharp images in subjects other than in macro having been shot with it. I never thought I would say that because I have always liked the high definition and sharp images that we so often see. The 28-135mm zoom lens has got me going back to the things I really once liked shooting and I am getting photos that I find to be more pleasing to myself but after all that is what is important isn't it? A great suggestion on purchasing this lens, again thank you Sue.
Very nice photos Ken. Both are very pleasing to the eye, no busyness to distract from the main subject. I went searching for an ID (page 32 in bugguide for leaf beetles) Just for the hell of it. http://bugguide.net/node/view/39442. Have a great vacation (were did I see that )
