at least that is what it reminds me. I think this is a Milkweed Tortoise Beetle.

I just took a picture of one of these the other day Sue. I always get them in my garden because they like to eat my morningglory leaves. A very sharp and crisp photo, you captured the clear edge of the wing covers very nicely :wink:

Used to have these all over the place last summer, haven't seen any yet but then again I haven't seen hardly any bugs so far this year. :-k

I have to agree with you Ken. I do not have as many insects this year and I also noticed that the birds are not migrating as they once did or at least they changed their location. Maybe it is my bird seed...

WOW. What a strange bug, we have nothing like this in the UK (not that I have seen anyway).
