The subject in Pic1 has interesting form and stands pin sharp against the OOF background. On the downside (although I appreciate not easily under your control) IMO the overall effect would have been more pleasing if the strong lines in the OOF background had run 7 o'clock to 1 o'clock.
I love the colour tint in pic2 and in this instance the direction of the very OOF background works perfectly with the subject.
Pic3 is a very pleasing composition, sharply defined against the soft and dark (though not too dark) OOF background. The tint and the slightly blown highlights on one of the stalks actually works to give the scene a sense of light and warmth.
I like all three pics but pic3 just wins by a nose (or an ear ).

Thanks Bruce
I like pic 3 as well, however I am not too pleased with the background but I like the sharpness and background of pic 1 much better. I tried to get the same effect of pic 1 into pic 2 but it became quite grainy when contrasted or slightly darkened. Pic 2 had the full afternoon sun on it while pic 1 was shaded. Yes, backgrounds you never have much control over, well maybe by using a different shooting angle it can sometimes give you a slight edge. Thanks again Bruce
