Welcome back, Walt!

Care to show us some photos of your new macrostand? (Over in Technical, please. )

Really interesting textures in this moss. The featureless areas -- say in the left center bright green area of pic 1 -- do they really look like that or are we seeing another manifestation of what we've come to call "stacking mush"?

Hey Walt, where ya been? Glad to see ya back. :D Great images of a favorite subject of mine also. Actually I am much more interested in what lives among these tiny plants, than the plants themselves. Looks like a couple of species of Mnium. :-k The leaves of these look pretty neat through the compound microscope, in that they are only one cell thick. :D

Thanks guys, it's good to be imaging again. No Rik, this is not stacking mush. It's operator error. I failed to calculate my rack out distance enough to pick up images out to the tip of the plant. I liked the image anyway and desided to post it.

Hi Walter, we missed you, welcome back. Excellent photos. Great detail on the leaves. Only one cell thick
