Poor Effort

Post by PhilH »

As promised, this is the pic I took just a week ago. Although I was quite proud of it at the time, it really is a poor effort.

My kit includes:
Canon 350D (Digital Rebel for our US brethren)
Canon 18-55 kit lens
Canon 60mm F/2.8 USM Macro EF S
Sigma 70-300 Zoom Macro lens

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday... and all's well!

I would not say a poor effort there Phil. Any effort made is better than none at all and each effort made is just one of many more to come and you know what? They keep getting better. :D

I beg to differ.

The picture does a very good job of suggesting the movement of the ants, and somehow you've managed to get the background ant's head into nearly perfect focus, while getting pieces of the foreground ant's body focused at the same time.

It's no small trick to do that, and I take it as an indication of great stuff to come. It's a lot easier to learn settings than timing and positioning!

I like this image. The ants seem playful in the way you captured them in the image. Ants are difficult to photograph. They like to move and move fast.

You did a great job.
