Haven't seen a "shoe horn" in years.

That is a strange looking moth.

I remember sometime ago, that Sue posted one with a knot on its head (probably hit it with a stick, so it would stay still.

). An unsual and interesting shot there Craig.

Sue, I have been trying to ID it, but have not been able to find anything yet. I was hoping it might be familiar to someone out here. I really don't know what species it is.

I looked in the identification books I have, but found nothing yet.

The closest I can find to this thing is not a moth, but a Thorn-mimic Treehopper, but it is missing some parts or at least they are not visible if that is what this is.

I will keep looking.l

Never thought of that but it very well could be a thorn mimic of some kind.
