A metallic Colored Ground Beetle

Ground Beetles (Carabidae) subfamily Harpalinae...Agonum cupripenne. Found this fella in my bog garden. He was not alive when I found him. Cause of death unknown.

For both..both full frame. Second picture is at 13x zoom, 3x into the digital side of the zoom.

Excellent colors on this small beetle. Is that sundew I see among spagnum ?

Sure is a colorful thing Doug. :D The color reminds me of "Jack Rocks." I used to play with them as a kid. Not many people will remember toys like that these days I suppose. Haven't seen them in years. Kids used to play with them all the time. :-k

Erland...the sundews went to seed last year and now they are red sparkly weeds in my bog...I have hundreds now :wink:
