I count 5 hoppers here and they did not seem distracted by the company.

I think some leafhoppers secrete honeydew like aphids and the ants lap it up and tend to leave them alone. I am not sure what the leafhoppers are doing. It looks like there are darker ones and lighter brown ones (I am on my laptop so I could be wrong on the color). A really nice photo Craig. Excellent focus and DOF. Along with being a very interesting subject.

It is a bit of a curiosity as to what they are doing. Some sort of mating ritual maybe.
