Ken - I like the composition of this, but I have a difficult time not being distracted by the out of focus grass blade covering his abdomen. I think I like the B&W photo better too. :)

Well a difference in "belly buttons" I suppose. :lol: I sort thought the oof pine needle to be kind of novel. :roll: :lol:

I don`t mind the needle that much. It sorta makes it look like you are stalking or spying on the beetle through the needles. very nice detail in the beetle Ken. I like the color one. I think the needles slanted like that by themselves would work very well in a B&W photo (with a few more in the focal plane).
