Only inches away from this lizard sitting on a cinder block, I was expecting a defensive strike of some sort but it was very cooperative and really did not seem to mind my presence. Usually they scurry away before you can get your camera raised to your eye. :roll:

WOW, he sure did want to pose for you Ken. maybe you looked like a female lizard that morning or something. Like you said, they usually don`t let you get that close very often...usually never :shock: . The photo looks very sharp and the lizard scales work very well in monochrome and he does look like he has an eyeball in this shot.

The lizards eyes are naturally dark, almost black because of the very large pupil. Trying to get any resemblance of a normal eye depends on the angle at which the photograph is taken. Actually this was a lucky shot. I took many others up close like this but they all have dark almost imperceptable eyes. Thanks Doug :D
