Between Showers

Post by Ken Ramos »

I am glad that it is raining, though it puts a "damper on outdoorsy" stuff. We need the rain though, its been dry but between the showers I did manage these and no there are no spiders checking their emails...  Though last night there just happened to be a persistant little jumper that kept coming back and wanting to crawl across my keyboard, even after several times of picking it up on a piece of paper and placing it elsewhere in the room to ferret out bugs. So after those several attempts to be humane, my patience at an end, I took it to the toilet and...well you've probably seen the movie. :D

Here are some shots I took while the rain was taking a break. :D

Composition was the biggest thing I was working on with these and by chance the backgrounds were not to bad except for the second image of the Smokey Winged moth, in which I think it is a bit busy but not too much so, in the first the background is the side of my house and yes that thing or insect is on a "Sow Thistle." I tried to compose these images in the viewfinder first, the main reason for the tripod, however after download, they all looked quite different when I started to work with them. Of course they always do. :? All are cropped at 50% plus the usual processing with Photo Impact 6. Constructive comments and criticism are quite welcome and encouraged. :D

Well done here Ken. Very clean and sharp. Well I didn't know you had splashed out on some of the best gear on the planet M8t. VERY nice to see you spoiling yourself, good on ya Ken. :D

All the best way up north.

Danny.
Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.

I like the first one best. Nice sharp critter and good bg.

I didn't realize you'd bought a 30D, congrats on that! I'm glad you aren't wasting your money on frivolous stuff like food and clothing...

Yeah...had to use a cutting torch to get a few bucks out of my wallet, some folks have even gone so far as to comment that they have never seen currency circa 1950 in a very long time but I got the gear. Thanks Danny :D

Yeah really. Who needs stuff like that. I find it a bit hard to gnaw peanut butter and jelly of of a lens cap though but a nice leather lens case makes for good apparel. Thanks Mike :D
