Peter & Bruce made me think of this particular weevil after commenting on a weevil in my post yesterday. I could be totally mistaken, but I find weevils to be pretty clumsy at times. This one already looks like he is about to lose his grip. Anyway, I accidentally (barely) nudged this plant and the weevil slipped and fell to the leaf below as if his little feet pads were oiled.
He seemed to be stuck for awhile, but was finally able to flip off of his back like a turtle finally finding a way to right himself. It had just rained which is what the sparkly stuff in the background is.
Mrs. Weevil was a bit shy in this one...

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Doug, you are right, it seems like insects do have a tendency of dropping from the plant if they sense your excitement on photographing them or you will sneak in and have your boot catch a vine that happens to be attached somehow and it shakes them off. Ken, thanks for the input on that first one. It does look bright. Oddly, the 2nd one looks pretty dark to me, but I think it was because the flash didn't reach him well due to the overhanging leaf. The 3rd pair was a little later in the day.
