Recently after a rain I found these western subterranean termite sexuals flying.

Excellent shots Gordon. Termites are very interesting once you get to know
about them.

Good show, I've never seen these for real, and except in books, have never seen them pictured. Seem like they could use a bit more USM? Maybe sharpened at another size, then resized for this.

With the exception of looking for protozoa in their gut, I never have given termites much thought, unless I see them flying around the house, then I give them lots of thought and call the exterminator. :lol: The photos look a little hot Gordon but nice, thanks! :D

Many thanks for the comments, I tried a number of things to clean it up a bit. However these shots were at about the limit of my cameras capabilities and were about the best I could get on the fly as it were. However as always comments and suggestions are always welcome... and needed.
