Nice one Ken. Yep, these are a bit aggressive and really do not mind putting the hurt on you.

Yep I have found myself being on the business end of these things many a time in my life and they hurt like the dickens! When I was a kid, I would roll up some old news paper on the end of a broom handle and set it on fire. Then stick it in their nests to burn their wings off and then take the nest and the larvae to go "bluegill fish'n" with. No wonder these things hated me. Thanks Sue :D

He is going to go back and report to the others that he has spotted you and there will be payback for sure.

Yeah, it doesn't look to happy there Cyclops. As a matter of fact it was still there today, perched atop the exact same plant stem. Hmm...a bit early for the fungus, one would think. :-k Thanks Cyclops :D

C'mon Ken, you don't have to worry about these things any more than a ladybug, UNLESS you are waving flames in their face. :D

Well Craig I gave up the can o' worms and wasper nests, along with the Zebco 33, many a year ago and traded them in for a nice 8' 2 wt. Sage SLT fly rod. Yes indeed, nothing more relaxing than a quiet stream on a quiet morning and having it full of brookies. No more fanning the flames in the wasper nests or digging up the yard for worms.
