Post by crotermund »

I've been reviewing some of my Fall pictures the last few days so I thought I would post a few.

These things, to me, are fun to photograph, especially when they are mating. The field behind the plant were I work has numerous wildflowers and Queen Anns Lace in the summer time and usually you will find many of these on the Queen Anns Lace.

Great shot, Craig. Not only did I enjoy the image but I think you ID'd a visitor to my greenhouse. :D I will have to check at my images now.

I like this picture very much. It has good lighting and nice even background. The whole beetle is well defined in space. I feel I have to try a 150mm macro lens somehow. Did you use ringflash for the lighting?

Wow, a photo of these NOT mating! That's almost unheard of! :D Around here they call these "Love Bugs" for good reason.

Nicely done.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, everyone. :)

Acerola - I do not use a ringflash although I am curious about them. I use the Canon 580ex with a Lumiquest Softbox diffuser over it.
