A very interesting photo Kev :-k

Certainly a different view and one that has opened my mind to possibilities on just how colourful some of my echinoderm fossils might have looked when they were alive. I'm thinking particularly of blastoids and crinoids. Although the relationship is remote, they exibited the same 5 part symmetry as sea stars and brittle stars.

Thanks for posting it.

Never seen one of these before, well not a fresh specimen up close like this. Usually its the starfish in a jar full of formaldehyde or the perserved starfish in a packet that I am most accoustomed to and to think I spent 21 yrs. in the navy and never met a real starfish. Beautiful image Kev :D

Very nice and pleasant. Kev! :D
Do you have it in your aquarium?
I'll give a try to my µ (mju) 720 SW underwater on my next vacation. 8)

cheers for the nice comments.

Macroluv: Yes it's in my aquarium, I've got one of the mju 720's, they're good little cameras, they take some getting used to underwater especially in the waterproof housing too!
