What a strange looking fish! :o Never have I seen one like this, what are the little finger-like projections above the eyes for? Great shot :D

they're described as Cirri, why they're there... I don't know. They provide a very useful aid to identification in similar species though

Really nice photo Kev - great colour and a subject that is both amusing and interesting at the same time. Just how big is this lil fellow and what about those tiny barbels around his (or her) nose?

Yep, we do not see to many fish pictures here...they are a very welcome change and very beautiful.

cheers guys, Bruce to answer your question he's about 15mm from top to bottom, as for the barbels around the nose these also appear to be common to other belnnies too, there doesn't seem to be much research into why they have them though?
